|
The CEFAR STEP 2 has many setting options for added individual patient customization. The stimulator automatically adjusts to the patient’s walking speed and detects when the patient is walking and standing still, since it stimulates when the foot is lifted. This gives the patient greater flexibility. The stimulator activates the nerves to the flexor muscles of the foot with electric impulses while the patient’s weight is on the healthy leg. A contact under the heel of the paralyzed leg indicates to the stimulator when the impulse burst should start and how long it should continue. A special setting to delay the stop and/or start of stimulation ensures more stability in walking and better safety for your patient.
The stimulator comes with a detailed instruction manual with clear advice and instructions that are easy to teach the patient. It also includes a rechargeable battery and charger that are easy to use. This ensures that stimulation need never be interrupted unnecessarily.
Electronic stimulation requires a stimulator that can penetrate the skin’s resistance, about 1,500 ohms. The CEFAR STEP 2 can manage a resistance of 2,400 ohms, guaranteeing effective stimulation. |
